Aims

To enable delegates to have basic industry experience and how to work safely with Scaffolding and access equipment


Content

 The competent person General responsibilities  Basic scaffolding terminology (components and application)  Servicing of equipment (tube, fittings, boards etc.)  Boards and stock – quality control  Health, welfare, hygiene and housekeeping  Electrical safety  Fire prevention and control  Noise and vibration  Working at height  Accident prevention and reporting  Slips, trips and falls  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)  Transport safety on site  Equipment and tools  Manual handling (including loading and unloading)  Lifting equipment using rope and wheel  Questions/test paper


Testing

It includes a minimum of six hours’ tuition, practical exercises and exams


Certification

Certificate of attendance on completing the course and a CISRS Labourer card will be issued. All access training services will apply for the card on your behalf.


Requirements

Delegates will be required to have a CITB Health, Safety & Environmental test (or accepted exemption) in place at the time of booking. The CITB HS&E test or exemption must be passed within the previous 23months before course start date. Accepted exemptions;  An SSSTS or SMSTS certificate  IOSH Working Safely, IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Directing Safely certificate  A NEBOSH construction certificate  A valid and in-date OPITO-approved offshore survival certificate (such as OPITO MIST)  A valid and in-date CCNSG Safety Passport
