CISRS Advanced Scaffold Inspection (ASI)

Description

This advanced CISRS scaffolding inspection training course is designed for Advanced Scaffolders and Inspectors who have held a Basic Scaffold Inspection CISRS qualification for a minimum of 2 years previously and are responsible for inspecting scaffolds and completing reports in accordance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

To be eligible, applicants need to have extensive scaffolding industry experience and have held a CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection Record Card for a minimum of 2 years.
CISRS Scaffolders who have held their card for a minimum of 2 years and Advanced card holders will also be eligible to attend this course without initially having to attend the Basic Scaffold Inspection course.

Aims

The 2 day Advanced Scaffold Inspection training covers both basic and more complex scaffolding structures. It is aimed at professional Scaffold Inspectors, Scaffolding Supervisors and Management and others who are responsible for statutory scaffold inspection for more complex structures.


Content

To give the attendees more comprehensive and in-depth knowledge, to enable them to understand how to inspect complex scaffolding structures in accordance with the Work at Height Regulations. This is in addition to the skills needed to complete full scaffold inspection reports.

•How to carry out a scaffolding inspection

•Knowledge test and assessment.


Testing

A written examination along with a practical examination will be required to pass this course.


Certification

Upon successfully completing the course you will be awarded the CISRS Advance scaffold inspection training scheme (ASI) certificate and CISRS Advance Inspection Card. All Access training services will apply for the card on your behalf.


Requirements

Individuals must meet at least one of the following:
❖Holds a current Scaffolder CISRS Card for a minimum of 2years. 
❖Holds a current Advanced Scaffolder CISRS Card.
❖Holds a current Basic Inspection CISRS Card for a minimum of 2years. 
❖Holds a current or expired Advance Inspection CISRS Card and is attending the course to renew their CISRS Card.

Delegates will also be required to have a CITB Health, Safety & Environmental test or CISRS Operatives NOCN HS&E test. (or accepted exemption) in place at the time of booking. The HS&E test must be passed within the previous 23months before course start date.

Accepted exemptions:      Those listed below must be completed within 2 years of the date of application.

  1. Completion of CISRS Recognised Scaffolding Apprenticeship Induction (Initial Trainee card only)
  2. IOSH Working Safely/IOSH Managing Safely/IOSH Directing Safely/SHE For Constructors Workers/Safety Health & Environment for Construction Site Managers
  3. NEBOSH (General/Construction/International) H&S Certificate
  4. SMSTS Certificate
  5. SSSTS Certificate
  6. Site Safety Plus HSA
  7. GQA Level 1 Award in Construction Health and Safety 

Current copies of the following qualifications will be accepted:

  1. Current CCNSG Safety Passport (SCATS)
  2. Current CCNSG Leading a Team Safely (SCATS)
  3. Current MIST/BOSIET/OPITO Approved Offshore Certificate
  4. SOLAS Safe Pass

For these exemptions to apply, a copy of the certificate must be provided at time of booking.

Delegates need to have a good understanding of spoken and written English to undertake CISRS courses. Please let us know if an interpreter is required.
